Them Skates, stylized as THEM SKATES, and just known as THEM, is a clothing brand that has a focus on inline skating, and was founded in 2018 by Jon Julio, with the store Them Goods existing since 2008. It is located in Santa Ana, California. The brand has collaborated with Sega in regards to the 25th anniversary of the Jet Set Radio series.
History with Sega[]
Them Skates' history with Sega would start on May 9, 2025, as they would post a teaser on their Instagram hinting towards an upcoming collab.[2] Later, on May 30, 2025, Them would officially reveal that the brand has partnered with Sega in regards to the 25th anniversary of Jet Set Radio, and would be releasing merchandise in celebration with them. The products included: shirts, skates, boots (with liner and no liner available), stickers, and a hat at various prices. The items are set to ship on August 1, 2025.[3]
In addition to this, the skates produced by THEM, would also be at display at the Brain Dead Studios x Jet Set Radio 25th anniversary event, along with the founder, Jon Julio, attending the event as well.[4] At the event, THEM would play a trailer in regards to their collaboration with Sega for attendees to see.[5]
On June 16, THEM and Sega would make a post on Instagram, announcing that there would be a "Jet Set Radio x THEM SKATES Pop Up Store" at the Paris Fashion Week on June 28 and June 29. The post would confirm exclusive merchandise being available, a "free JSR giveaway" to the first 100, and have sounds curated by Hit You on the Rebound, plus friends, and Dadou.[6]
On July 2, 2025, Them Skates would post an advertisement of their Jet Set Radio collaboration, which was first shown off at the Los Angeles event.[5][7]
On September 3, 2025, Them Skates and Sega would announce another Jet Set Radio event for the 25th anniversary, taking place at New York City in the Samutaro Exhibition, which would also make a post about the series' impact and aggressive inline skating.[8] The event will last from September 9th to the 14th (Tues-Sun).[9] The first 100 guests at the event will receive a free JSR gift and music will be provided by Towfu and Fire Aux.
On October 27, 2025, Sega and Them Skates would announce another JSR event, this time taking place in Santa Ana, California.[10][11] Like the previous events, the first 100 attendees will get a free piece of JSR merch, and Sega has encouraged cosplayers to show up as well. The event is also being hosted by the Blading Cup, which Sega has sponsored this year in regards to the Jet Set Radio series' 25th anniversary.
On November 1, 2025, Them Skates and Sega would announce another pair of JSR-themed skates, the TURBO, which featured artwork of Beat and Gum on them. Additionally, they would showcase new merch as well including tote bags and shirts that feature Gum and DJ Professor K, and a shirts that feature the game's English and Japanese logos and a hoodie that features a JSR-like THEM SKATES logo as well.[12]
