Tagger's Tag, (タガー・タグ Tagā Tagu?) also known as Tag Battles, (タグバトル Tagu Batoru?) are missions in the Jet Set Radio series. They appear during the story mode of Jet Set Radio and Jet Set Radio Future. The mission is available in the multiplayer mode for Jet Set Radio Future.
In the multiplayer mode of Jet Set Radio GBA, it is referred to as "Throw Down" instead. Additionally in JSR GBA, only two players can compete in Thrown Down instead allowing for four players like in JSRF.
Main objective[]
The main goal of Tagger's Tag is to spray the back of the opposition in a set amount of time. In Jet Set Radio, the player has to spray each rival gang member 10 times each, totaling 30 sprays. In Jet Set Radio Future, the player has to run down the opponent's health bar instead.
Story[]
Jet Set Radio[]
In Jet Set Radio, Tagger's Tag first becomes available via either the Noise Reduction mission or the Kogane Circus mission. After those two are completed, Love Attack will appear as the third Tagger's Tag mission. During the final chapter of the game, Behind the Mask is the final Tagger's Tag mission the GG's have to go through, tagging down a maskless Poison Jam this time.
Jet Set Radio Future[]
In Jet Set Radio Future, Tagger's Tag appears throughout the story multiple times, with the first round being against Poison Jam at the bottom point of the Tokyo Underground Sewage Facility. Later on the GG's will have to tag down the Immortals at the Skyscraper District and Pharaoh Park and Highway Zero. As the story progresses, the GG's will eventually tag down the Noise Tanks and take down NT-3000 with the help of Cube. The last tagger's tag mission that happens in the story is against two Zero Beats, just before the final boss of the game.
During chapter 7, or the post game for JSRF, the player will also have the opportunity to tag down the Immortals again in 99th Street.
Official descriptions[]
Jet Set Radio Future manual[]
- Draw graffiti on your opponents' back. You lose the battle when your Graffiti Meter depletes. The player that survives to the end wins.[1]
Jet Set Radio Future Perfect Guidebook[]
- EN: In Tag Battles, you must spray your graffiti onto your opponents' backs. Once someone's G-Stamina reaches zero they're out, and the last person left alive is the winner! You can't tag someone from the front so you'll have to get behind them or knock them over in order to attack them.[note 1]
Jet Set Radio Future Prima Games Strategy Guide[]
- One of the more prolific challenges from within the story mode, Tagger's Tag is as head-to-head as you can get. Or should we say, head-to-back? The goal here is to spray your opponents' backs with paint until their health meters run out. But be careful, they can do the same to you.[3]
Jet Set Radio (GBA)[]
- Tag enemy gangs! Knock them down and spray their backs!![4]
