The Love Shockers (ラブショッカーズ Rabu Shokkāzu?) are a rival gang in Jet Set Radio. Described by DJ Professor K, they are broken hearted ladies out for vengeance, although it is never mentioned who they seek revenge against. The Love Shockers are one of the three rival gangs that the GG's are having a turf war with in the streets of Tokyo-to along with Poison Jam and the Noise Tanks.

The Love Shockers are a Technique character who excel in speed and has a great capacity of spray cans, being able to hold 30. However, her biggest drawbacks are her middle of the road graffiti stat and her poor health bar. Meaning, while fast, she cannot score that much points and can be taken out by enemies and hazards quickly compared to most.

Role in Jet Set Radio[]

In Jet Set Radio, the Love Shockers appear without warning in the Shibuya-cho district, the GG's home turf, and starts to take over it, prompting the GG's to rush around and retake their territory from the group. The GG's encounter the Love Shockers again during the Love Trap mission and finally take back their turf after the Love Attack mission. After their defeat in the first chapter of the game, one of the downed Love Shockers holds out a badge for the Golden Rhinos. After the GG's defeat Goji Rokkaku, Combo, (DJ Professor K in the original Japanese release), says "the Love Shockers are all broken hearted again", in the second to last cutscene of the game.

Trivia[]

  • In the original Japanese release of Jet Set Radio, the song "Sneakman" by Hideki Naganuma, was heavily associated with the Love Shockers. After the game was localized, the song "O.K. House" by Idol Taxi seems to be more connected to the Love Shockers as it is the first song that plays during the Love Trap mission.
  • While not as noticeable compared to the Noise Tanks and Poison Jam, the Love Shockers' textures do reveal some slight differences between the members.
    • The lead Love Shocker member does not have a beauty mark under her right eye, while the other 2 do. The second Love Shocker has one, while the third has two markings under her right eye. Interestingly, the second Love Shocker was used as a base for the entire gang's set of expressions as the marking is present on the textures.
  • The Love Shockers' logo would be featured in the Roller Champions Jet Set Radio Park alongside various other character logos as well.
