Jet Flag, (ジェットフラッグ Jetto Furaggu?) also known as Flag Battles (フラッグバトル Furaggu Batoru?) and Flag (フラッグ Furaggu?) in during the story and multiplayer, is a side mission in Jet Set Radio Future. The mode is a form of capture the flag according to the Jet Set Radio Future Perfect Guidebook.

Main objective[]

The main goal of Jet Flag is to collect the most flags before anyone else. Every round will have five sets of flags, if the player gets 3 or all of the flags before the rival character or gang does, they win the game.

Story[]

In the story of Jet Set Radio Future, the player will have to play Jet Flag against Rapid 99 at 99th Street to progress in the story. During chapter 7, or after the game is beaten, the player has an optional choice to go to Hikage Street to face against the Love Shockers in a round of Jet Flag, due to their round of Death Ball being interrupted by the police and Hayashi.

Post game[]

In the post game of Jet Set Radio Future, Jet Flag appears as a Test Run. Unlike in the story where the player has to go against a rival gang, this time, the player has to collect of the flags by themselves. If they get all the flags in a set amount of time they will earn a "Jet" rank, which helps towards unlocking additional characters. The areas for the Test Run are for more open areas like Shibuya Terminal and Rokkaku-dai Heights.

  • EN: Capture the flag! If you get 3 out of the 5 flags, you win! In Flag Battles, being familiar with the roue is key, and you'll often need the techniques to get ahead of your opponents and the speed to stay there.[note 1][3]

Flag Battle[]

  • EN: In this battle, you must collect flags which appear one-by-one on the map. Out of five flags, the person or team who collects three is the winner. The only hint you have to where the flags are is the arrow displayed onscreen, so it's not a bad idea to learn where they are. So that you don't miss the chance to grab them, careful usage of Boost Dashes is recommended.[note 1][5]
