Highway Zero (国道ゼロ号 Kokudō Zero-gō?, lit. National Highway Zero) is a racetrack that appears in Sonic & Sega All-Stars Racing. The track is named after the location from Jet Set Radio Future, but is actually based on 99th Street.
Unlike its contemporary tracks, Highway Zero only has 4 missions between the console/PC and Nintendo DS versions of the game. Beat is used in the first one, and Opa-Opa is used in "Graffiti Dash". In the DS version of Sega All-Stars Racing, B.D. Joe is used for "Destination Drift", while Ryo Hazuki is used in the "His Name Is Ryo" mission.
Official description[]
Sonic & Sega All-Stars Racing[]
- The old meets new here, taking you through small shops and traditional Japanese architecture to a backdrop of high-rise office blocks. Make sure you got enough speed for the leap through the ancient pagoda![1][2]
Overview[]
Console/PC versions[]
Highway Zero takes place during the light district from 99th Street. As racers race through familiar structures from the area, drivers will eventually reach a ramp that launches them through the Benten Tower and brings them back to the streets. When returning to the ground, the track splits up into two parts, with both sides having boost pads and item capsules on them, and eventually the starting line will be reached.
DS version[]
Like most courses in the DS release of Sonic & Sega All-Stars Racing, Highway Zero is is much different from its console/pc counterpart. Racers will start in an area with orange lanterns and bridges overhead, and will eventually reach a sewer like area before departing on a railway. This railway area also has platforms that contain item capsules on them, which makes it high risk high reward for players to perform. Eventually racers will drive off the railway and come back to start after going through traditional Japanese structures.
