Grind Square (グラインドスクエア Guraindo Sukuea?) is a district in Grind City. It was a part of Combo, Cube, and Coin's home turf. The area itself was built by the Rokkaku Group. Although citizens are seen hanging out and presumably shopping at the various stores in the location, Grind Square feels relatively more relaxed in comparison to Bantam Street.

Jet Grind Radio: Sybex's Official Strategies & Secrets[]
- Grind Square is undoubtedly one of the toughest stages in Jet Grind Radio. Not only is it packed with ferocious enemies that just keep on coming, but it's also filled with mile-high rooftops that can only be accessed from street level by elevators.[1]
Overview[]
Grind Square, just like Bantam Street, is a singular block district of Grind City. However, unlike Bantam Street, Grind Square is not as open as the map is shaped like an "X". At the bottom level of the area there are elevators that take the player up to the top, which is where most tags are. The high level of Grind Square consists of multiple rails that allows the player to travel to each side easily and allows for infinite grinds to score points. Similar to that of Benten-cho, Grind Square is also packed with neon-lights and various entertainment locations and stores that people visit. According to the intro for Rock 'n Roll Grind, the specific area of Grind Square that players explore is where the Rokkaku Headquarters are located. This is evident by the Golden Rhino statue in the middle of the stage and the various Rokkaku advertisements plastered throughout the district.
Story[]
Grind Square was also apart of Combo, Cube, and Coin's home turf. It would also get taken over by the Golden Rhinos just like Bantam Street. Similarly, Combo and Cube would take back Grind Square, but it would be revealed that the entire place was built by the Rokkaku Group. After taking the area back, Combo and Cube got a message from Coin telling them to head to Tokyo-to to meet up with the GG's.

Trivia[]
- Grind Square is based on Times Square from New York City.[2][3]
- Ironically, in comparison to its real-world inspiration, Grind Square is not as crowded or restless as Times Square itself.
- In the E3 prototype of Jet Set Radio, the test stage that is accessible uses the layout of Grind Square. It is possible that the test stage was simply repurposed to be Grind Square during localization due to its simply structure. One major difference between the test stage and the finalized Grind Square, is that the test stage does not have any elevators to get back up to the top.
- Grind Square is the only location in Jet Set Radio to not have an auto-play title screen demo. This is most likely due to its size and rather small structuring of the level.
- However, according to the game's files, specifically "PLAYDEMO.AFS", players can find a "Stage 6 Demo" that mostly likely refers to Grind Square having its own auto-play video as well, since the location is referred to as "Stage 6" in the files.
- In the middle of Grind Square, there is a Golden Rhinos' statue that is on top of the district's police department. This statue is a clear parody of the Statue of Liberty.
- The tennis poster that appears in Grind Square would be reused in Jet Set Radio Future, appearing in both Shibuya Terminal and Chuo Street.
