A.KU.MU (悪夢 Akumu?, lit. Nightmare) is the final boss of Jet Set Radio Future.

Overview[]

Appearance[]

As A.KU.MU is a transformation of Gouji Rokkaku, he shares some elements with him. Most notably his head and face had the least amount of changes as they are structured the same to where even the beard is kept, however he gains blue eyes and a blue static mouth. A.KU.MU's body is mechanical as well, he has a normal hand and a claw hand. On his back seems to be a tail that connects to the center of it, while the back of his head features the ring present on Gouji's Tower. In the front of A.KU.MU there is a second fully modeled head with a smiling face. During the boss fight A.KU.MU does not wear skates, but when playing as him his skates are similar to those of Zero Beat's.

Personality[]

A.KU.MU is the result of Gouji completely losing all sense of reality and absorbing the "demons" and evil energy of the citizens of Tokyo.

Role in Jet Set Radio Future[]

During the final boss of Jet Set Radio Future, Gouji creates a vortex that captures the player, and Gouji will reveal that he transformed into A.KU.MU. Which was possible by using the voices and energy of the people of Tokyo. To defeat him, the player must dash into him and spray paint him like every other boss in the game. After defeating A.KU.MU, Gouji will return and proceeds to disappear with his tower.

Unlocking[]

A.KU.MU is unlockable by getting a Jet Rank in all of the Test Runs for the Fortified Residential Zone.

Noted interactions[]

  • Beat - In the Japanese post game dialogue, if A.KU.MU or Gouji talks to Beat he dismisses them with a "Hmph...". Showing displeasure at his appearance in the garage.
  • Corn, Combo, and Garam - Just like when Zero Beat talks to them, all three members will simply stay silent with "......" if either A.KU.MU or Gouji speaks to them. Most likely them being taken aback at either of them being in the garage.

Notes[]

  1. Although neither Gouji or A.KU.MU have profiles in the Jet Set Radio Future Perfect Guidebook, it is noted that "Power-2" type characters are similar to "Power-1", but more extreme. Both Gouji and A.KU.MU's stats resemble Combo and Poison Jam's stats with slight differences.
