Jazz (ジャズ Jazu?) is a playable character and member of the GG's in Jet Set Radio Future; her role is important in the story but her recruitment is optional.
She is one of the few characters in the game without a counterpart in Jet Set Radio.
Overview[]
Appearance[]
Jazz is a fairly tall character with dark skin and short, white hair. She can easily be recognized by her late 90s hipster style: she wears a checkered yellow and green scarf with a black, cut-off sweater-shirt and black fingerless gloves. Her pants are off-white with some green designs, and she sports black roller blades with neon blue wheels.
Personality[]
When initially meeting Jazz, she comes off as worrisome due to her being kidnapped by the Noise Tanks and somehow being mistaken as a member of the GG's. She eventually comes to accept that she has to work with the gang to escape from the Noise Tanks and becomes more levelheaded. After chapter five, when talking to her at the stadium, she boasts that she could beat the player in a race, showing some cockiness, but she takes her loss well and simply joins the gang in response.
Her dialogue between characters shows that Jazz is more rational and calm, specifically compared to characters such as Garam and Combo, as she understands their frustrations with the Noise Tanks overrunning Tokyo but tells them to "chill" and to "keep it together". Her post game dialogue indicates her having an interest in poetry.
Role in Jet Set Radio Future[]
Jazz's first appearance in the game is at the Tokyo Rokkaku Expo Stadium. During the GG's search for Yoyo, the player character was led to Highway Zero and defeated the Immortals in Tagger's Tag. However, they are tricked into ending up in a cage, and are forced by the Noise Tanks to play Death Ball with Jazz (who the Noise Tanks mistakenly believe is one of the GG's), against several other gangs. After the GG's defeat the Doom Riders, the Immortals, and almost the Love Shockers, captain Hayashi interferes in the competition with an upgraded Terror Drone. Jazz and the player go their separate ways, and the player defeats Hayashi alone. Jazz can later be found again in this same place, and will join the GG's after the player defeats her in a race, after which she becomes a playable character.

Official profile[]
Jet Set Radio Future Perfect Guidebook[]
- Jazz got dragged into Death Ball due to a misunderstanding by the Noise Tanks, then formally joined the GGs later on. Her ability to hold up to 35 spray cans turns out to be very handy.

Trivia[]
- The race against Jazz at the Tokyo Rokkaku Expo Stadium is considerably harder than previous races against Beat and Poison Jam, as there are not a lot of shortcuts in the stadium. Jazz will grind most available rails and will Boost Dash.
- Jazz and Clutch are the only characters in Jet Set Radio Future that can hold 35 cans. In the perfect guidebook for the game, their character type is referred to as "Spray".
- She has the same idle dance as Gum.
