Boogie (ブーギー Bugī?) is a playable character in Jet Set Radio Future. She can be recruited during a special event at Kibogaoka Hill; her role is minimal and her addition to the GG's is optional.
Overview[]
Appearance[]
In Jet Set Radio Future, her appearance undergoes a significant change to her Jet Set Radio counterpart. Her once dark brown hair is now blonde, held back with a blue headband, which allows her ponytail of long dreadlocks to dangle freely. Her white outfit is replaced by a low cut skin-tight, midriff baring orange top, with dark grey sleeves which have katakana characters going down them. There are yellow stars over her nipple area and between her shoulder blades. Her pants are also orange and snug fitting, ending in a flare just below the knee. There are what appears to be yellow pouches strapped to either hip, and a yellow trim to her pants. Her gloves have since become two toned blue/blue grey, as have her skates, which now sport red wheels.
Personality[]
When recruiting Boogie, she shows excitement about joining the GG's as she calls them "legendary" and joins the gang without hesitation. After joining she claims the gang is "crazy" in a good way and seemingly question members about certain things such as Combo keeping his boombox or chain with him while showering or Corn's leadership being tested. However, she is also shown to be cautious as well as during the Noise Tank raid during chapter six she says "This doesn't look good." After finding out that Yoyo is at the Fortified Residential Zone she suggests picking numbers on who goes to save the missing GG, showing some form of reluctancy to travel there.
Role in Jet Set Radio Future[]
In Jet Set Radio Future, Boogie is first found and can be recruited at Kibogaoka Hill during chapter 4. When the player enters the area with stairs before the large power lines, Boogie will appear at the top of the structure and a timer will start. The player must reach and talk to her before time runs out, at which point she will say "You're as good as they say!" and will join the gang. The player is given 20 seconds to reach her. To reach Boogie, the player must grind and make a few jumps, otherwise it is impossible to reach her in time. If the player fails to make it in time, she jumps off the ramp behind her and grinds away, not to be seen again unless they trigger her appearance again. Once unlocked, Boogie's role in the story remains relatively minimal.
In the post game she mentions that getting a "Jet" ranking in the Test Runs can unlock extra characters who do not appear in the garage.
